Location: Simdega, Jharkhand

Salary: ₹15,000 per month + travel reimbursement as per organizational norms

About the Role

The Media Officer will play a crucial role in capturing, creating, and editing high-quality visual content to document CKN’s field work, impact stories, community initiatives, and events. The role requires strong skills in photography, videography, and video editing, along with a passion for social sector storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

1. Photography & Videography

  • Capture high-quality photos and videos of field activities, events, community meetings, training sessions, and beneficiary stories.

  • Ensure all visual content reflects dignity, consent, and ethical standards.

2. Video Editing & Post-Production

  • Edit raw footage into polished, engaging videos for social media, documentation, donor reporting, and campaigns.

  • Create short reels, testimonials, and mini-documentaries.

  • Add subtitles, transitions, music, graphics, and branding elements as required.

3. Documentation & Content Support

  • Maintain a well-organized database of photos and videos.

  • Support project teams with content for reports, presentations, newsletters, and proposals.

  • Ensure proper consent forms are collected before capturing photos/videos.

4. Social Media & Communications Support (Desirable)

  • Provide photo/video content for social media updates.

  • Assist in basic graphic design tasks—posters, banners, thumbnails. (Not mandatory, preferred)

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in photography, videography, and video editing (NGO experience preferred).

  • Proficiency in editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, etc.).

  • Ability to shoot on DSLR / mirrorless cameras / good smartphones.

  • Understanding of lighting, framing, sound, and basic storytelling techniques.

  • Ability to travel regularly to field locations (rural and remote areas).

  • Sensitivity to work with vulnerable communities, especially women and children.

Remuneration

  • Monthly CTC: ₹15,000

  • Travel: Additional travel reimbursement as per CKN’s policies
