About the Position

Chotanagpur Kalyan Niketan (CKN) is inviting applications for the position of Creche Supervisor for its Rural Creche Initiative. Supported by the Azim Premji Foundation, this initiative aims to provide safe, nurturing, and learning-friendly spaces for children in remote tribal villages of Simdega district, Jharkhand. The Creche Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing 10 crèche centers across villages, ensuring smooth operations, maintaining quality standards in childcare, nutrition, safety, and strengthening community participation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular field visits to assigned crèche centers to monitor operations and provide on-site support to caregivers.
  • Identify issues at the crèche level, troubleshoot challenges, and escalate concerns when necessary.
  • Ensure that children receive quality care, hygiene, nutrition, and early learning support.
  • Organize community-level meetings, awareness drives, and events involving mothers, PRI members, and local service providers.
  • Collect and maintain accurate records, attendance sheets, and reports from the crèche centers.
  • Provide timely updates and documentation (including success stories, case studies, and field photos) to the Cluster Coordinator and Project Manager.
  • Support in training and capacity-building initiatives for crèche caregivers to improve service quality.
  • Ensure child protection protocols and safety standards are followed at each crèche center.         
  • Coordinate with local stakeholders, including Anganwadi workers, health staff, and Panchayats, to ensure smooth integration with other government programs.
  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by the management related to the Rural Crèche Initiative.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Graduation in any discipline is required; however, a degree in Social Work, Child Development, Education, Health, Nutrition, or a related field will be considered highly desirable.
  • 2–3 years of experience in grassroots-level work, preferably in early childhood care, nutrition, or women & child development
  • Prior experience working with tribal and rural communities is highly desirable.

Essential Skills

  • Strong understanding of early childhood care, nutrition, and community mobilization.
  • Excellent communication skills in Hindi and/or the local language.
  • Ability to conduct extensive travel to remote villages on a regular basis.
  • Basic skills in record-keeping, reporting, and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, email, and internet tools.
  • Ability to guide, mentor, and motivate crèche workers with patience and empathy.
  • Strong commitment to working with marginalized and tribal communities.

Additional Requirements

  • Personal Vehicle: Must own a two-wheeler for regular field visits.
  • Referral Check: Employment will be confirmed only after successful referral verification from the previous employer.
  • Police & Background Verification: Mandatory police verification and background check will be conducted post-selection.

Salary & Benefits

  • CTC: ₹2,40,000 per annum (subject to applicable taxes and deductions)
  • Travel Allowance: Provided as per organizational norms.
  • Final remuneration will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience, screening and interview.
