About the Role
Chotanagpur Kalyan Niketan (CKN) is inviting applications for the position Accounts & Logistics Coordinator for its Rural Creche Initiative. Supported by the Azim Premji Foundation, this initiative aims to provide safe, nurturing, and learning-friendly spaces for children in remote tribal villages of Simdega district, Jharkhand. The position involves managing project financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting norms, and coordinating logistical and administrative arrangements to support smooth program operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain day-to-day accounts and financial records for the Rural Creche Initiative at the block level.
- Ensure timely entry of vouchers, bills, and financial data in accounting software/manual registers as required.
- Handle petty cash, prepare expenditure statements, and support monthly financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with financial standards, audit norms, and Organization’s guidelines.
- Support procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies for Creches and training sessions in coordination with the project team.
- Maintain stock registers and ensure timely distribution of logistics to creche centres.
- Coordinate logistical arrangements for meetings, field visits, trainings, and community events.
- Assist in documentation, printing, and dispatch of IEC materials, reports, and related content.
- Support administrative tasks such as attendance tracking, reimbursements, and staff logistics.
- Provide assistance during audits and visits by internal or external teams.
- Undertake any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or CKN management.
- Field visits would be a vital part of this role.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or a relevant discipline.
- Minimum 2–3 years of work experience in accounting, logistics, or administrative roles, preferably within the development sector.
- Experience in field-level accounts management and logistic support will be preferred.
Essential Skills
- Sound knowledge of accounting practices and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, basic accounting software (e.g., Tally), and digital documentation.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good coordination skills to work seamlessly with project teams and field staff.
- Strong communication skills in Hindi; basic English reading and writing skills are desirable.
- Commitment to transparency, accountability, and working with rural and tribal communities.
Additional Requirements
- Must own a personal two-wheeler for field mobility.
- Reference verification from the previous employer is mandatory before final selection.
- Police and background verification will be conducted after joining.
Compensation
- Salary (CTC): ₹3,00,000 per annum (subject to applicable taxes and deductions)
- Travel allowance as per organizational policy.
- Final offer will be based on qualifications, relevant experience, screening and performance in interview.
