About the Role

Chotanagpur Kalyan Niketan (CKN) is inviting applications for the position of Cluster Coordinator for its Rural Creche Initiative. Supported by the Azim Premji Foundation, this initiative aims to provide safe, nurturing, and learning-friendly spaces for children in remote tribal villages of Simdega district, Jharkhand. The Cluster Coordinator will be responsible for field-level implementation, monitoring, and community engagement within a designated cluster of villages.

The role involves supporting Creche caregivers, mentoring field teams, strengthening community linkages, and ensuring quality service delivery to young children from 7 months to 3 years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor the day-to-day functioning of Creches within the assigned cluster of villages.
  • Support and guide Creche caregivers to maintain high standards of childcare, nutrition, and hygiene.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor operations and provide on-the-spot mentoring to staff.
  • Organize and facilitate training sessions, review meetings, and block-level discussions.
  • Work closely with mothers’ groups, PRIs, ICDS workers, and health staff to strengthen community involvement.
  • Maintain accurate records and collect data on attendance, nutrition, learning activities, and child progress.
  • Document success stories, field learnings, and submit timely reports to the Project Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with child safety, protection, and sanitation norms across all Creches.
  • Assist in planning monthly activities and conducting community awareness events.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or CKN management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Masters/Postgraduate degree in Social Work, Nutrition, Rural Development, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of field experience in childcare, nutrition, health, or rural development programs.
  • Experience of working with tribal/rural communities will be preferred.

Essential Skills

  • Strong understanding of early childhood care, nutrition, and community engagement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with women caregivers, and local institutions.
  • Proficiency in Hindi (spoken and written); basic knowledge of English is desirable. Knowledge of local tribal languages will be an added advantage.
  • Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, Google Workspace, internet, email).
  • Willingness to travel frequently to remote villages and field areas.
  • Commitment to working with marginalized and tribal communities.

Additional Requirements

  • Must own a personal two-wheeler for field mobility with a valid driving license.
  • Reference verification from the previous employer is mandatory before final selection.
  • Police and background verification will be conducted after joining.

Compensation

  • Salary (CTC): 4,20,000 per annum (subject to applicable taxes and deductions)
  • Travel allowance as per organizational policy.
  • Final offer will be based on qualifications, relevant experience, screening and performance in interview.
